talkSPORT scores rights to World Cup

20 Nov

Last week talkSPORT announced that they’ve secured live commentary rights to the 2014 football World Cup in Brazil.

Radio is expected to receive a big boost in listenership around The World Cup, as the Brazilians have moved the games to early kick-offs to meet the needs of European TV audiences.

Many of the games will start at 5PM BST which means people will be trying to find a way to keep in touch with the action when they’re at work or on their way home. Radio is the perfect medium as fans can enjoy the game, whilst at the same time getting on with their daily lives.

This is undoubtedly one of radio’s core strengths – to reach people easily where other media simply can’t. Radio is known as a secondary medium; people can listen to it at the same time as doing other things, like commuting or carrying out their chores. This makes radio a fantastically powerful medium for advertisers.

Through intelligent planning, buying and creative execution, brands can become an important part of listeners’ lives. That’s what Radio Experts helps clients achieve every day.
